The Village Of Elbow Irshavsky district<\/a> Transcarpathian region is located in an extremely picturesque place. There is a magnificent and unspoilt nature around.<\/p>\n\n

In historical sources, the village was first mentioned in 1613, and the Church was mentioned in 1690. At first this village was called Velika Abranka<\/a>. It was only in 1919 that the modern name of the village \u2013 Lokot-was established.<\/p>\n\n

In 1710, as a result of the kurut revolt, the local area was extremely devastated. First wooden church<\/a> in the village, the Elbow was burned. However, already in 1734, a new one appeared in the village of Lokot temple<\/a>. Researchers believe that marks and traces of corner joints on the bars may indicate that it was moved to the Elbow from another village.<\/p>\n\n

This tritronic, built of oak logs, the Church of the presentation of the blessed \nThe virgin Mary has been preserved to this day and is dated according to the inscription on the Board 1734 \nyear.<\/p>\n\n

Equal log houses of Navi and Babinets of the temple are wider than a five sided log house \nthe altar part. Poddashye, which encircles the structure, at the Western wall of the temple forms \nthe roof of the porch, which stands on carved columns. The nave and Babinets share a high \nroof; the roof of the altar part looks miniature. A square tower rises above Babinets \ntower with a hipped roof, which turns into a high sharp spire with four-pitched \nan apron ending in a cross. Now the Church is covered with slate gray tiles \neternite, which was installed instead of the wooden roof covering in 1937. \nDespite this reconstruction, the temple managed to maintain its original appearance almost unchanged.<\/p>\n\n

Next to the Church is an open-type bell tower, covered with \na four-sided hipped roof.<\/p>\n

Due to the spire-like completion of the temple is classified as a group \u00abgothic<\/a>\u00bb Lemko<\/a> temples of Transcarpathia. In 1963, the Church was listed as an architectural monument of the Ukrainian SSR.<\/p>\n\n

The temple contains ancient prayer books, Ancient \nicons and frescoes. The temple is active.<\/p>\n
