The district has a population of 90,000. The majority of the district’s population is Ukrainians<\/a>, which relate to Hutsul subethnos<\/a>.The area is well preserved original Hutsul traditions.<\/a>. In addition to Ukrainians-Hutsuls in Rakhiv district live Crrown<\/a>, Hungarians<\/a>, rums<\/a>, Germans<\/a> and representatives of many other nationalities.<\/p>\n\n

The area of the district is 1892 square kilometers. Largest river \u2013 Yew tree<\/a> and Shopurka. On the territory of Rakhiv district, located mountain lake Epsinet, Maricheika, Violent<\/a>, Berbeneskul, Vorozheska, Hereshaska, Drogobytske<\/a> Lake, Lower, Upper, Small Gropa.<\/p>\n\n

Rakhiv district is located in the highest place in Ukraine. It is on the Rakhiv Region that the highest peak of the Ukrainian Carpathians and all of Ukraine is located \u2013 Hoverla<\/a> (2061 m.), and five other peaks whose height exceeds two thousand meters: Berbeneskul, Pop-Ivan, Petros, Gutin-Tomnatik, Ribs.<\/p>\n\n

It is through the Rakhiv district that the highest mountain road in Ukraine passes \u2013 the highway Yablunitsky pass<\/a>.<\/p>\n
