Tyachevsky district covers an area of as much as 1,800 square kilometers. The district’s territory forms the border with Romania. The district includes 62 localities. The district has a population of 175,000. The majority of the district’s population is Ukrainians<\/a>. More than 10% of residents of tyachevsky district \u2013 Romanians<\/a>. Also live here Hungarians<\/a>, Germans<\/a>, rums<\/a>, Belarusian, Russians<\/a> and representatives of many other nationalities.<\/p>\n\n

The biggest part of the territory belongs to high-altitude areas. The highest peak of the tyachevsky district is mount Bratkovskaya (1788 meters). It is on the territory of the tyachevsky district that the snowiest place in Ukraine is located \u2013 the village of Russian Wet, where snow lies 116-178 days per year. The biggest part of the territory is the deepest medical institution in Ukraine \u2013 Solotvynska<\/a> Republican allergological hospital. Some of the halls of this institution are located at a depth of more than 300 meters.<\/p>\n
