On alpine<\/a> in the Carpathian valleys, among the ocean of fragrant herbs, yellow gentian grows. Hutsuls<\/a> call it genjuro or gangurou. The name, of course, reflected the characteristics of the plant, and the pronunciation of “gin-Jura” reminds magic spell<\/a>. Perhaps it was said together with prayers during the preparation of medicinal decoctions. And today the Carpathians Highlanders<\/a> telllegends<\/a> and sing songs about the healing properties of the flower of polonyna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Decoctions rhizomes and roots of ginzuri were used as a remedy\r\nfor the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, chronic bronchitis, malaria, gout, rheumatism,\r\narthritis of various origin and liver diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was believed that yellow gentian also has magical properties.\r\nIts broth was used by witches to fly on a broom. According to legend they had enough\r\nanoint under the armpits with a decoction of this flower. It was also believed that gentian is yellow\r\ngives beauty and smoothes wrinkles. It was also used as a love potion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
