According to another legend, the city owes its name to the word “handkerchief”. Old-timers say that in the old days the local sentries castle’s<\/a> at the approach of the Tatar troops, signals of danger were transmitted from the surrounding watchtowers, waving the appropriate gestures with a red signal handkerchief.<\/p>\n
