Church of the Holy King Istvan #197

In the heart of Tyachiv are two ancient temples. The Catholic Church of St. King Istvan, which was built in 1780, should be read first. You can see the clock on the tower of the church. However, it is not real but drawn: it is a common practice in Transcarpathia, as not every community could afford to buy expensive watches. The clock above the temple served not only to tell the congregation an hour, but also to remind that every moment could be the last in human life.
