Nicholas Gothic Temple #138
In the small village of Danilovo, Khust district, Transcarpathian region, with a population of 1800, the highest of all Gothic wooden temples of Transcarpathia is located - Mykolaiv. Its brazed tower has a height of up to 35 meters. This unique church was built in 1779, when similar temples were already in place in most of the neighboring villages, so that masters had a good example of harmonious composition. The date of construction is reminiscent of the shrine door. In 2005, the Church of Mykolaiv was handed over to a Greek Catholic community that has not held a service here since 1920. After a long break, Greek Catholics held their first service at this temple on April 3, 2005, when the whole world said goodbye to Pope John Paul II.
