In the Romanian village of Seredne Vodyane (formerly called Middle Apsha, with a population of nearly six thousand people), two temples from the historical point of view of the Rakhiv district of the Transcarpathian region have been preserved. Both shrines are dedicated to Nicholas the Wonderworker. The lower Mykolaiv church is one kilometer from the upper one. It is younger than its neighbor and was built in the 17th century. The harsh exterior of the temple has a high roof and is distinguished by the unusual location of the entrance: on the southern facade of this ancient structure. The roof of the lower church is also covered with gont. Recently, during the repair, ancient paintings were discovered there.
