The multitude of colors and the stormy flow of pedestrians in downtown Hust create a sense of East. It grows when you enter the Independence Square, which is transformed into a city bazaar. The square should be turned left and a few meters away you can see the building of the Kabbalist synagogue. At the beginning of the 20th century, a large Jewish community lived in the city. In the spring of 1944, when the Nazis took Jews to concentration camps, they brought their spiritual literature for storage in the synagogue building. Several hundred lucky Jews to return home took their books back. After the Khrushchev thaw, emigrating, they and their children again brought the Talmuds to the synagogue, where the books are still stored. In Soviet times, the building remained intact. This synagogue is active and has resumed operations in 2000.
