Description
In the Romanian village of Seredne Vodyane (formerly called Middle Apsha, with a population of nearly six thousand people), two temples from the historical point of view of the Rakhiv district of the Transcarpathian region have been preserved. Both shrines are dedicated to Nicholas the Wonderworker. Locals distinguish these churches not by name, but by geographical location: upper and lower. The upper temple is two-edged, on the side it seems that it has grown into the ground. It is one of the oldest temples in Transcarpathia. He meets tourists at the beginning of the village by the road. This church has been known since 1428, and in 1760 a tall frame tower was built above the entrance. Narrow arrow windows are a reflection of Gothic style in architecture. The oak logs of this church are considered the oldest in Ukraine.
