Description
Historical documents show that the first settlers appeared in the area of the present village of Rekity in the 16th century. One hundred years later, in the seventeenth century, when the village had already grown, a beautiful wooden church of fir spruce, named after Saint Nicholas, was built on the slope of the mountain. The church got its present appearance after the next reconstruction in 1854 (another rebuilding took place in 1751, possibly due to another transfer of the building to a new place). Next to the church is a two-story square bell tower with an octagonal tent roof, which has a spherical completion. The small wooden church and bell tower are located in such a way that they create the perfect composition on either side.
