Walking around the city Uzhgorod you can get very hungry. In order not to make excuses later to all your friends (“Were in Uzhgorod – and were not in the “Deck”?!”), tourists should have lunch in a famous restaurant in Transcarpathia, which is located among suburban one-story blocks at the entrance from the side Mukachevo (M. Uzhgorod, Gagarin street, 98).
“Detsa u Notar” is not just a restaurant, it is not so much the cuisine that is important here, as the atmosphere: it is unique the museum folk humor, created in 1995 by the famous Transcarpathian humorist, historian Pavel Chuchka. In the Museum restaurant hosts the international Comedy festival “Carpathian verbiage”. The name of the institution stands for very simply: “DECA” – it means “one hundred grams”, and “Notar” – “notary”. A sign at the entrance to the restaurant says that this house was built by a notary public in 1940.
The restaurant-Museum has a lot of funny attractions. There are “Gypsy barometr” the funny “cemetery” in Ukraine and the cart. Even the menu here is so funny that we had to set a price for it so that guests of the restaurant could buy it as a kind of souvenir.
The restaurant “DECA u Notar” is open to visitors daily from 10.00 to 23.00.
