Archaeologists found a “Milk stone” in the cave a stone age hunting camp (more than 20,000 years ago). In the local forests there are deer, ROE deer, wild pigs, foxes, lynxes, bears, Martens, weasels, badgers, muskrats, brown-toothed Alpine and forest cats. The bird world is represented by the grey crow, owl, blue dove, black Starling, woodpeckers and exotic black storks that nest only in wild forests. Trout, grayling, earwigs, Golovach and golian are found in clear mountain rivers. More than 500 species of plants grow in Ugolka, of which 27 are rare.
