The situation of the Orthodox clergy in Transcarpathia in the XVI-XVII centuries deteriorated significantly. He was abused as Catholics as well as Protestants. In the confrontation between Catholics and Protestants, the Orthodox clergy decided to compromise with Rome. So on April 24, 1646 in Uzhgorod castle 63 Orthodox priests led by Vasily Tarasovich in the presence of the Catholic Bishop of Jaeger György Yakushich accepted the Union, that is, they agreed to join their Church to the Catholic one and recognized the supremacy of the Pope. However, a number of exceptions were made, in particular, the rite of the Greek Church was preserved. The agreement was implemented very slowly. Only in 1651 did Rome approve the first Mukachevsky Greek Catholic Bishop Peter parthenius. Only in 1771 was samu canonized Mukachevskaya Greek Catholic diocese.

It is a tradition to have a basket of blessed food on Holy Saturday or Easter Sunday. which contains all the food items served on Easter Sunday Brunch. The basket is also obligatory decorated with an evergreen plant - as a symbol of eternal life and immortality. The basket has a beautiful embroidered cloth symbolizing life and destiny. This is the wealth of threads woven with love and intelligence. During the blessing, people put a candle in the basket which reminds of Jesus, who is the Light for the world. A candle is a light that comes out between people. This year everyone is so nervous in Ukraine, very nervous. The Easter holiday doesn’t bring any joy. But every family still following this beautiful national tradition, because with no tradition nationality does not exist.
I couldn’t do Ukrainian Pysanka Easter eggs this year, I didn’t have a good spirit for it.
