Zsigmond Rakoczy (1544-1608) – the founder of the dynasty Rakoczy. From a young age zhigmond served at the court of Peter Feathers, then he was a vassal of his descendant, Gabor pereni.
Starting with the siege of the fortress of Tokaj in 1565 Zsigmond successfully participated in the wars. For the siege of Fulek castle and the battle of Sijcijn, he received the title of Baron. In 1587 Zsigmond Rakoczy married Judith Bacine Alagi, the widow of the owner Mukachevo castle. Thanks to this marriage Rakoczy he became one of the wealthiest magnates of the Habsburg part Hungarians, which is very disturbing Viennese yard. Habsburg we did everything possible to deprive Rakoczy new ownership. So they lost a loyal ally in the fight against Transylvania, and in return received a whole dynasty of opponents on the Transylvanian throne.
Zsigmond joined Stephen Bocca, elected Prince of Transylvania, who gave him large powers of the Governor and the General. In 1607 Bocskai died, bequeathing power to the Balint Gommoni Druget,but the national Assembly elected Prince Zsigmond.
Rakoczy never reconciled with his former son-in-law Balint My friend. Last years of Zsigmond were in the fight with him and Gabor Bathory. In 1608 batore at the head of the Haiduk troops forced a sick rakotsi abdicate the throne. Not having the strength to resistance Zsigmond rákóczi left Transylvania and the same year he died.
