The tract Ogarev where once stood the Church of Kolodne, located near the ancient Polskim monastery, the oldest monastery of the region. This is just a few kilometers North of Kolodny, near the village of Malaya Ugolka. The monks arrived in Transcarpathia with students of the wing and Methodius, remote mountain areas of the region were ideal for the monastery and the quiet life of the monks. The exact age of the monastery is unknown, and researchers believe that the monastery was founded in the pre-Mongol period. There is a description of the Ugolsky monastery (then still male) in 1558, when the ambassadors of the Moscow Tsar Ivan IV the terrible were returning from Constantinople.
