Transcarpathian art Museum named after Joseph bokshay was founded in 1948. It is located in the building of the former komitat administration (zhupanat) - an architectural monument built in 1809 in the architectural style of classicism.
There are many unique landscapes in the territory of Uzhgorod created by noble Hungarian families: Uzhhorod - Laudona Park, Pidzamkovy Park; Nevitske - Wagner Park; Big Lazi - Ploteni Park; Drawing - park in 1848.
The area is growing more than 300 species of exotic plants, especially want to highlight the Japanese sakura, cypress, Himalayan pine, pavilion, magnolia.
At first, there was a wooden fortification on the site of the Khust castle. Later, on the orders of the Hungarian kings, the fortress was rebuilt and made of stone. This reconstruction took a century from 1090 to 1191. Today, the remains of the fortress are barely visible through the trees. In the middle ages, Khust castle was known as an impregnable fortress.
Krasiya ski resort is a favorite place of recreation for Uzhhorod residents and guests of the region. It is located in the village of Vyshka, in the district of Velikiye Luki, at a distance of 65 kilometers from Uzhgorod.
There are many versions about the age of the rotunda's Foundation: from the IX to the XII century. The nave and vestry of the Church were built later – in the XIV-XV centuries. The glory of the Goryanskaya rotunda brought a unique fresco found under the plaster during the renovation in 1879. Previous scientific analysis has already established that these are frescoes of the XIII-XIV centuries. The frescoes are painted mainly in cold colors and depict well-known subjects: "the Annunciation“," Flight to Egypt”, “the Road to Calvary”, “Christ before Pilate”, "the last supper". Apparently, the author of the frescoes was familiar with the work of Giotto, the forerunner of the Italian Renaissance. There is a version that the frescoes on the walls of the rotunda were commissioned by the owner of the Uzhanskaya dominiya Gyorgy Druget, an Italian by origin.
