During the 1960s and 70s, two dozen wooden buildings of the XVIII-XX centuries were moved from the villages of the Transcarpathian region to the territory of the Museum. This is one of the first open-air museums or skansens in Ukraine. It began operation on June 27, 1970. The Museum is located not only as an " exhibition of achievements” of folk architecture of Transcarpathia, but also as a small independent village.
The city of Hust is located at the confluence of the river Rika with the tisu at a distance of 112 kilometers from the regional center. The Uzhgorod–Solotvino railway and the Uzhgorod-Rakhov highway pass through the city. The population of Khust is about thirty thousand people.
There is a version that the name of the city of Hust is an abbreviation of the names of the crown cities of the Maramorosh zhupa, namely: Gossumese-Long Field-Campolung (now in Romania) – “G”; Uishk – Vyshkovo – “V”; Sygit – Sigetul Marmara (now in Romania) – “S”; Techo – tychev – “T”. Thus, the first letters of the names of these cities gave the name of the city "GUST", which was later transformed into Hust.
For the first time, defense structures appeared in the Transcarpathian region in the bronze age. Then they were settlements surrounded by earthen ramparts and ditches (Ardanivske, Stremtura (Irshava), Galish-Lovachka (Mukachevo), Borzhavskoe (vary). The best type of defense structures of the middle ages in Transcarpathia are castles of the XI-XVIII centuries.
Researchers distinguish two types of fortresses. The first was intended for overseeing the surrounding lands and receiving tribute from them, as well as for constant attacks. It's Mukachevo, Kwasowski, Bronicki, Nevitsky locks. The second type – the castle-guard of subordinated territories: Uzhgorod, Vynohradiv, Royal, Chynadievo, Serednyansky.
Kelechin is known for being the birthplace of the first President of the Carpathian Ukraine, Augustin Voloshin. In the village there is a memorial plaque dedicated to an outstanding countryman. In addition, there are plans to build a Museum dedicated to him.
Not far from the village is a unique source of natural sparkling mineral water "Kelechin". This water is used in the treatment of the cardiovascular system, gynecological diseases, digestive organs, and even radiation sickness. There are no analogues in the world classification of mineral waters of kelechinskaya. The locals call mineral water region "bukutamu". It is planned to build a sanatorium based on the unique mineral water in Kelechin.
Lazeschina, like many other villages in Transcarpathia, is readily used by skiers and boarders. Housing prices in Lazeschina are affordable, and the distance to the famous ski bases in Dragobrat and Bukovel is insignificant. Dragobrat is only 18 km away, and Bukovel is 20 km away.
It was near Golubin in 1878 that the counts of Schoenborn began to extract water from the springs "Margit", "Luga-erzhebet"and" Pannonia-jofia". In those days, this water was used to treat diseases of the upper respiratory tract, intestines, kidneys and gall bladder, as well as diabetes.
Especially like to relax here lovers of mountain skiing. In Kobyletskaya Polyana there are two ski slopes with a width of 100 meters, a length of 500 and 800 meters, and a height difference of 50 and 80 meters, respectively. They are located on the territory of the resort complex "trembita".
Bogdan is a very beautiful Transcarpathian village, which is located near the Petros and Hoverla mountains. The length of the ski slope in Bogdan is 1500 meters. The track is equipped with a tow lift with ratrak. Ski lovers with experience should come here. For beginners and Amateurs, the ski track of medium difficulty in Bogdan is not the best option. However, it is a good option for professionals and experienced skiers.
In winter, Mezhgorye becomes extremely popular for a variety of tourists and travelers who love skiing. It is for them that two famous ski resorts operate in Mezhgorye: "Alliance" and "Kamenka".
Rakhov has become a popular ski resort. The ski slopes here are located on Menchul mountain, which is located in the South-Eastern part of the Montenegrin massif (dovgota E: 24.21257 latitude N: 48.05480). Their level of difficulty is elementary and intermediate. They attract skiers by frequently changing the slope level. The length of the four trails is from 300 to 1400 meters. They are equipped with two types of lifts – tow and multi-lift. The height difference is 230 m.
