Museum of Omelyan Stotsky
The Omelyan Stotsky Museum is a small house on the territory of the Skhidnytsia Karpaty sanatorium. In this museum, you can learn more about the life and struggles of the outstanding Ukrainian educator and scientist Omelyan Stotsky (1894-1979). He played a major role in the transformation of the village of Skhidnytsia to the famous balneological resort, namely due to its discovery, research and popularisation of local healing mineral waters. Omelyan Stotsky was a very intelligent and talented man. He spoke 5 foreign languages (Czech, German, Polish, Italian, Russian), was a great piano player and even composed waltz melodies.
The museum was opened in August 2008 thanks to the efforts of Zynoviy Kraichyk, the chief physician of the Skhidnytsia Carpathians sanatorium, and Omelyan Stotsky daughter, Lviv journalist Hanna Stotska.
Among the exhibits of this memorial museum are Omelyan Stotsky personal belongings, documents and photographs, as well as sand and stones from the kidneys of the resort’s first patients.
