Pylypets is a mountain village. It is located at an altitude of 700-750 m above sea level. The river Ploshanka, streams Pylypchyk and Studeny flow through the village.
Pylypets was first mentioned in written sources in 1463, but then it was called Verpelepets. According to legend, the name comes from the founder Pylypets, shepherd Pylyp with an emphasis on the first syllable.
The wooden church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin of the XVIII century has been preserved in the village. and 2 wooden bell towers beg. XX century in different parts of the village. Locals say that in the 1930s, the Hungarian authorities offered their ancestors a kind of "barter" - a new stone temple in exchange for wood from the surrounding forests, but they wisely refused.
