The name of the Strukivska church in the village of Yasinya comes from the surname of Ivan Struk, a shepherd from Galicia. According to the legend, his sheep successfully overwintered without their owner under the crown of a huge ash tree. Deciding to settle in this place, Struk cut down the ash tree and built a chapel on its stump. He founded a village on the banks of the Chorna Tysa River and named it Yasinya in honour of the ash tree.
