In the resort village of Skhidnytsia every year, interesting festivals take place that leave positive emotions among tourists and holidaymakers. For more than a decade, Skhidnytsia has been the venue for a unique balloon festival in the region. Almost every year, Skhidnytsia has become a gathering place for hot air ballooning enthusiasts. For a fee, giant balloons were willing to take tourists high above the clouds. They offered incredible views of the surrounding forests and mountains. The balloons reached an altitude of 500 to 1500 metres and made a leisurely flight at a speed of 20-30 km/h. Due to restrictions related to the martial law, we need to keep track of the time of the next festival.
Every year in the summer (mostly in mid-August), a large-scale folk song festival “Skhidnytsia Summer” is held. This wonderful festival features performances by amateur groups, famous artists and bands, a wonderful fair, ballooning, and more. It successfully combines folk art, modern pop and extreme entertainment. This festival is a kind of business card of Skhidnytsia. Thanks to this large-scale festival, Skhidnytsia, in addition to being a balneological resort, has become a well-known cultural and artistic centre of the Carpathian region. At the festival, you can get to know the unique traditions and soul of the culture of the Boyko region. In 2023, the festival took place in July and was held in a charity format to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Another interesting mass event in Skhidnytsia is the Skhidnytsia Trophy rally. Motorists from all over Ukraine come to participate in these exciting rally competitions. Passing the rally tracks in Skhidnytsia is an extremely difficult task that only very good off-road vehicles can handle. The tracks are extremely saturated with difficult descents and ascents. For spectators, this incredible competition leaves a sea of extraordinary impressions that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Not far away, at a distance of 7.6 km from the village of Skhidnytsia, the village of Urych hosts a wonderful festival called Tu Stan every year! Here, next to the ruins of an ancient fortress, this event features interesting workshops, incredible reenactments of medieval battles, musical performances and exciting competitions. It is one of the largest festivals of medieval culture in Ukraine. The popularity of the Tustan fortress ruins is extremely high. To satisfy the curiosity of tourists, a mobile application about this powerful fortress was even created in 2018.
