Description of the entertainment and recreation complex “Oscar”
The dolphinarium in Truskavets was created to the highest European standards. The conditions for dolphins and fur seals are as close to natural as possible.
The main pool of the dolphinarium is a bean-shaped artificial reservoir 6 metres deep. This shape of the pool, according to scientists, is extremely convenient for dolphins. The spectator stands in the dolphinarium are arranged in a semicircle, which is extremely comfortable for the audience to watch the dolphin show. This pool is the permanent habitat of dolphins.
The second pool of the dolphinarium is 4 metres deep and slightly smaller than the previous one. Dolphin therapy sessions are regularly held there. Both pools are connected by a gateway through which dolphins can swim.
In addition to dolphins, the Oscar Dolphinarium is home to fur seals. The facility has two more swimming pools for them.
The Oscar Dolphinarium is home to 6 dolphins (Black Sea bottlenose dolphins) and 2 fur seals. Both kids and adults are delighted with their cheerful performances. Animals in the dolphinarium feel no worse than in the wild. This is confirmed by the birth of a baby dolphin here in 2016.
In addition to enchanting performances of animals, the dolphinarium regularly holds dolphin therapy sessions, which are used for psychological rehabilitation, which has become very relevant these days in the context of a full-scale war with Russia. Highly qualified specialists work with dolphins, which allows them to achieve good results after the therapy.
