Overview

Transcarpathian eco-farms are a wonderful option for children’s tours and excursions from Uzhhorod. Most of them are located in the Khust district of Zakarpattia region.
Our tour covers three of the most exotic and extremely popular eco-farms of Transcarpathia.
The first stop during our tour of Transcarpathia is the famous buffalo farm “Paradise Corner”, located 122 km from Uzhhorod. In addition to buffalos, the farm is home to deer, African ostriches, peacocks, decorative ducks, domestic chickens, pheasants, partridges, horses, pigs and roe deer. There is a children’s playground, horse riding, and tastings of eco-products made from healing buffalo milk. Various workshops are also held here.
Just 15 km away from the buffalo farm lies the ostrich eco-farm “Ostrich farm”. As souvenirs, visitors can buy ostrich feathers or eggs. Besides ostriches of different ages, the farm has peafowls, ponies, a donkey, and rams. All animals are very friendly; ostriches can be fed by hand and even petted – leaving children with many positive emotions.
A little further, just 9 km from “Ostrich farm”, in the village of Iza, there is the amazing deer farm – the only farm in Ukraine breeding spotted reindeer. It was established in the 1980s not for tourism but to obtain pantocrine, a substance valuable for pharmaceuticals, found in deer antlers. Today, the farm serves both tourism and pharmaceutical industries. Several hundred spotted reindeer live here, and children can feed them with crackers sold on site.
