There are many interesting places to visit when travelling in Khust district. One of these locations is the Ostrich Farm, located at the exit from Khust (on the northern outskirts of the city, near the ring road). Local entrepreneur Vasyl Perets opened the farm more than 20 years ago, back in 2002.
The owner brought the first pair of ostriches from the neighbouring country of Slovakia, and he did not regret it, as the Transcarpathian climate proved to be suitable for ostriches. In addition, these birds are omnivores, so feeding them is not a problem at all.
In 2013, the number of birds on the breeding farm was already about 50, not including the young birds.
