And for lovers of antiquity and romance, a pleasant surprise will be a tour of the ruins of Nevytsky Castle, lost among the Carpathian Mountains.

Excursion program Bathing in vats in Lumshory:

  • Departure from Uzhhorod.
  • Moving to the small alpine village of Lumshory.
  • Walk along the Turychka mountain stream to the small but very picturesque Davir and Nightingale waterfalls.
  • SPA-treatments : alternating bathing in tubs with hot mineral water and a cold mountain river. An unforgettable experience! A huge cast iron vat with a capacity of about 2000 liters stands in the middle of a wooden hut without a roof. It is filled with mineral water and heated with firewood over an open fire. There are several stones in the tub. You climb inside (4-5 people), and the hospitable host puts firewood in the fire and “cooks” you over low heat. When you feel that the blood starts to boil (although in fact the water is heated to no more than + 45 ° C), jump out! In a few steps – an icy mountain stream, dive there – and back into the tub.
  • Moving to Perechyn. Lunch-tasting of Transcarpathian cuisine in the ethno-restaurant “Horseshoe”.
  • Moving to the castle hill near the village of Nevytske. Excursion to the ruins of Nevytsky Castle (15th century) – the most mystical castle in Transcarpathia. History and legends of ancient walls. According to legend, it buried young brides of noble birth away from human eyes. Amazing photos with views of the Uzhanska Valley and the Slovak Tatras.
  • Return to Uzhhorod

Itinerary

Uzhhorod

Uzhhorod is an exceptionally attractive intertwining and center of various European cultures. Here coexist the brightest aromas and tastes, national traditions and religious denominations. Here you can discover the unique charm of ancient architecture and touching mini-monuments. Then, thanks to the diversity of culture and the proximity of other countries, before going on a trip you can visit the cozy cafes and restaurants, where it is recommended to enjoy delicious food and delicious coffee.

Lumshori

Transcarpathia has always been famous for its healing mineral springs. From time immemorial, it was enough to find a convenient place in a mountain hollow or pit, smear it with clay and heat the water with hot stone. Thus arose the first spa resorts. And the village of Lumshory in the Perechyn region became their central point. Locals pour mineral-enriched liquid into cast iron vats. The oldest of the containers used today dates back to 1600. Such bathing, especially contrasting, has a unique health effect for the functioning of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

Perechyn

On the way from Uzhgorod to Lumshory you will make a stop in the city of Perechyn - the capital of the Transcarpathian Lemko region. It is here that the world's only monument to the Postman (postman) is located. The monument was erected in honor of the real man Theodore Feketa (1789-1838). He faithfully performed the duties of the Postman for 30 years, which earned him special respect among the residents. From time immemorial, Ruthenians had to go to work to feed large families. Theodore, knowing how eagerly people wait for news from their breadwinners, every day, in any weather, taking a heavy "postman tyister" (a postman's bag), traveled at least 50 kilometers.

Nevytske

Nevytske is a place where the well-preserved ruins of Nevytsky Castle are located. Castle Hill is a mysterious place, people began to settle here in ancient times, and some even believe that it is a "place of power."
In a tour of Nevytsky Castle you will learn a lot of interesting and unusual about the history and fortification of the Carpathian fortress. For you, the old legend of the Bad Virgin will come to life and will make you think about what is more in ancient stories - truth or fiction.
And from the height of the castle bastions will offer a breathtaking view of the Uzhanskaya valley, which will be a stunning backdrop for your photos.

Uzhhorod

After the trip it is best to inhale the aroma of linden and sakura, relax on the embankment of Uzhgorod, walk towards the forest of UzhNU. Ungvar, who celebrated his millennium, gives everyone a sense of uniqueness. Therefore, after visiting the city, the traveler gives him his whole soul forever. And memories of a unique tour will be remembered for a lifetime.
