Detailed description of the Museum of Folk Art and Life of Hutsul Region (Kosiv)
The basis for the museum’s exposition was a private collection assembled by the artist and art historian Yevhen Sahaidachnyi (1886-1961).
The museum’s exhibits include a large number of decorative and applied arts of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, a rich collection of folk textiles and artistic leather and metal products.
Masterpieces of Kosiv ceramics from the second half of the nineteenth century and the middle of the twentieth century, as well as Hutsul carvings, are of high artistic value. All of them were made by famous craftsmen from Kosiv and its surroundings.
