The village of Verkhniy Studenyi, Khust district, Transcarpathian region, is located in the middle of the picturesque mountain ranges called the Skolski Beskydy. That is why this village is often associated with the famous ski resort “Beskyd“. It is located between Volovets and Mizhhirya beyond Pylypets at an altitude of 710 m above sea level on the banks of the Studenyi River.The village of Verkhniy Studenyi is located near the Watershed Ridge. The lowest average annual temperature in Transcarpathia was recorded here.
The area is rich in mineral waters of carbonic acid-chlorocalcium type (53 explored springs). The most famous of them are Soymivske, Vuchkovske, Kolochava, Verkhnobystryanske, and Kelechynske. The water of the latter is used to treat radiation sickness.
