В декількох кілометрах на південь від села Бронька Irshavsky district Zakarpattia region is a unique ancient village Long. In historical sources, it was first mentioned in 1383. The population of the village is almost seven thousand inhabitants. If you come to the center of the village you can see the real one parade of temples: four rural churchesfive of them were lined up in a single line. The youngest of them is Roman Catholicthe Church was built in the early XXI century in the art Nouveau style.
In the village of Long saved castle-the Palace of the moguls Zavgaev and TVs. It was built on the site of a fortress of the XV century. The walls of the cellars have been preserved from the old castle. In the middle of the XVIII century, the Palace was surrounded by a defensive wall. Behind the walls is a small park with benches, utility rooms and a modest one-story residential building, decorated with risalit and pilasters. It is not very similar to a classic castle and looks more like a noble Palace. Perhaps that is why local residents are surprised and advised to go to the castle when asked “how to get to the castle?” Khust.Now on the territory of the castle-Palace is located tuberculosis sanatorium.
Opposite the complex, in the square is a column decorated with turul, which was installed at the beginning of the XX century on the occasion of the anniversary of the first battle smokers’ under the guidance of Tomasz Essay against the Habsburgs the war, which took place on the outskirts of dovgogo on June 7, 1703. Under the column is a mass grave of fifty dead rebels.
In Long there is a higher economic College “Bachelor” named after Vasily Yakuba, which is the only higher education institution in Ukraine that is located in in the village.
Long known for the fact that here lived and created a famous Transcarpathian writer Maria Pidgiryanka. In this village, she raised the grandchildren of Ivan Franko.
