On Koshuth Square (Verbevtsiya) among the pretty two-story villas, the landmark Berehovo – a huge building of the former imperial court (1908) – is showing off. Ferenc Jablonski, an architect, did not hold back his creative impulses: there was even a fencing hall here. Today, this building houses the Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute named after Ferenc Rákoczi II.
A mandatory point in the program of visiting Berehovo is a walk through the old city center, many interesting architectural monuments.
