The legend of the rocks of lovers in Kostylivka
According to the stories of local residents, the name “Lovers’ Rock” comes from a story about a tragic event between lovers Ivan and Marichka, who jumped off a cliff. Their motive was the impossibility of getting married. They were madly in love with each other, but their parents forbade them to marry. In order not to go against their feelings and the will of their parents, they chose eternal unearthly love and jumped down.
This place became quite symbolic. So young people who are madly in love come here and confess their eternal love to each other, swearing by their own lives.
