Mini-sculpture of Yanko Derevlyany
Ivan Shchur is a legendary figure in the history of hiking tourism in Transcarpathia. He is also called Yanko Derevlyany, because he makes sculptures from wood. Ironically, he became the prototype for the new mini-sculpture. Ivan Shchur is the owner of the tourist shelter “U Yanka Derevyalny” on Mount Yavirnyk with a height of 1017 meters, which is located near the village. Veliky Berezny. On June 10, 2018, a mini-sculpture of Yanko Derevlyany was installed on the territory of the tourist shelter “Yavirnyk”, which is located above the village of Ruskyi Mochar, Uzhgorod district. At the same time, a miniature “Monument to a Transcarpathian tourist” was installed nearby. Mykhailo Kolodko was the author of both mini-masterpieces.
