Rest in Vorokhta

In the warm season, holidaymakers mostly use Vorokhta as a launching pad for hiking in the surrounding majestic mountains and forests. In addition to long hikes, you can simply take day trips with a parallel collection of local mushrooms and berries.

In addition, Vorokhta offers tourists a lot of great entertainment for outdoor activities. The most popular among them are ATV rides, horseback riding, paintball, zip-lining and rafting.

In winter, Vorokhta becomes an attractive place for skiing enthusiasts.

In addition, Vorokhta has a long history. It was founded back in 1568 by Vasyl Yanyuk, a resident of the village of Kosmach. The village got its name thanks to the Polish warrior Mykhailo Vorokhta, whom Vasyl Yaniuk’s eldest daughter Maria married. He made the village famous thanks to the weaving industry, which was founded in the village by his efforts. He was considered a very intelligent man. Peasants from the surrounding villages often came to him for advice. Going on a journey, they would say “I’m going to Vorokhta”. That’s how the name Vorokhta stuck to the picturesque Carpathian village. Over the centuries, despite the tumultuous historical events, many interesting sights have been preserved in Vorokhta and the surrounding area. First of all, you should visit the local churches, viaducts and museums.

For relaxation and rest after active entertainment in the village, local vats are perfect. The Carpathian vats of Vorokhta heal the body and heal the soul. Vivid memories of swimming in the open air in front of majestic mountains remain for a lifetime.

Vorokhta is a beautiful Carpathian resort with an ideal price-quality ratio. This cosy mountain village has everything you need for a good holiday all year round. Vorokhta is located in the Nadvirna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region in a beautiful picturesque area not far from the Bukovel resort.

Vat therapy in Vorokhta

For most tourists, bathing in vats is associated with the village of Lumshory, which is located in the Transcarpathian region. This picturesque mountain village has become a real benchmark for vat relaxation for the whole of Ukraine. Every year, more and more owners of hotels, spa centres and private estates open new locations with vats in Transcarpathia and Prykarpattia. This trend is also typical for the village of Vorokhta. Every year, new locations with vats appear here and existing ones expand.

Compared to baths and saunas, bathing in vats has many different advantages, which makes them attractive to tourists and holidaymakers.

  1. Firstly, the main difference between vats and baths and saunas is their open-air location. This allows you to improve your health in a healing font, while admiring the enchanting nature of the Carpathians and breathing in the clean mountain air.
  2. Secondly, vats provide an opportunity to improve your health in a more comfortable and gentle environment, which is a great option for families with children.
  3. Thirdly, the vat perfectly rejuvenates the body without forcing people to shed a lot of sweat as in baths and saunas.

Most vats are designed for simultaneous bathing of 4 to 10 people. The most common option is for 8 people in one vat. The vats are perfect for youth groups, romantic couples and families with children.

During bathing, the water in the vats is gradually heated by a fire from 35/36 to 45 degrees Celsius. In most cases, the fire is lit in a closed stove under the vat. It can be a little scary at first, as your mind tells you that you are being cooked in a giant cauldron. But there’s no need to be afraid, as the water temperature is closely monitored to prevent overheating of the swimsuits. And the design of the vat itself is made in such a way as not to cause burns or discomfort during bathing. For this purpose, the bottom of the vat is mostly covered with river stones, which protects against burns and overheating.

The main material for the manufacture of most vats is cast iron. It is ideal for vats because it can be heated for a long period of time and retains the heat of the heated water for a long time.

There are a few simple rules to follow when bathing in vats:

  • Firstly, you should take a shower before diving into the healing waters of the vats.
  • Secondly, you should dive into the vat without metal jewellery, as it can heat up quite strongly in hot water in a short period of time and cause significant discomfort.
  • Thirdly, to begin bathing, you should gradually immerse yourself in the water of the vat and, having reached the middle of the vat, take a comfortable position for the procedure, without immersing your head and heart area in the water. This will allow you to get the maximum benefit and relaxation from this procedure. The correct design of the vat plays an important role. Ideally, the vat should be as comfortable as possible for lying or sitting with your back supported and covered with water up to the heart line. Otherwise, if the vat is narrowed towards the top and has a small angle of inclination for the back, you will have to sit almost vertically with water up to your neck, which will put additional stress on the heart and, to some extent, offset the benefits of the procedure.
  • Fourth, when bathing in vats, you can immerse your heart and head in hot water for a short period of time. This will help to normalise the body’s temperature.
  • Fifthly, while bathing in the vat, you should cool down every 15 minutes by dousing or immersing yourself in water or rubbing yourself with snow.
  • Sixth, the bathing procedure itself should last from 1 to 2 hours. This is enough to get the maximum benefit from this wonderful procedure.
  • Seventh, immediately after bathing in the vat, you should take a warm shower.

All locations with vats in Vorokhta have comfortable, warm changing rooms and showers with clean sheets, towels and slippers.

Thanks to bathing in Vorokhta vats, you can get a wonderful healing effect and maximum relaxation of body and soul. All this together is an incredible remedy for stress, anxiety and fears that are prevalent in Ukraine today.
