One of the most interesting places to visit in Beregovo district of Transcarpathian region is undoubtedly the urban-type settlement of Korolevo (formerly known as Kiragaza). Its population is more than eight thousand people. It is located at a distance of ten kilometres east of Vynohradiv. There are several churches and many cafes in the village. Walking around the village, you might think you are in the capital of the Transcarpathian Roma: brightly coloured Gypsy skirts are visible everywhere. An interesting fact is that traces of the oldest person on the territory of Ukraine, who lived about a million years ago, were found near this village. Korolevo is also known for its 700-metre-long wine cellars, which are laid under the castle hill.
