Polonyna Makovytsia farming enterprise

The Polonyna farm is located on the slope of one of the highest peaks in the region, Mount Makovytsia.
Here, the caring owners raise a special Carpathian breed of sheep and produce sheep cheese according to the ancient traditions of the Hutsuls.
The sheep farmers have a special rite of passage – going to the meadow. Every year in May, after St. George’s Day, the shepherds take their flock of sheep to graze on the meadow. Anyone can witness this colourful performance, plunge into the life of the Hutsuls and feel the unique Hutsul atmosphere.
