The village of Plavya (Plavye) is located in the Stryi district of the Lviv region. It is located in the middle of the picturesque valley of the Plavie and Brynivka rivers. You can reach the settlement from Stryi (68 km), Lviv (141 km), Ivano-Frankivsk (166 km). The Kyiv-Chop highway passes nearby. The village was founded in 1523.
The village got its name from the woodworking industry, where wood was floated along the river that flows next to the settlement. In 2007, the Plai ski complex was opened, thanks to which the village became popular.
