Two historically valuable wooden churches have been preserved in the Romanian village of Seredne Vodiane (formerly known as Seredne Apsha, with a population of almost six thousand people) in Rakhiv District, Zakarpattia Oblast. Both shrines are dedicated to Nicholas the Wonderworker. Local residents distinguish these churches not by name, but by geographical location: upper and lower. The upper temple is two-log, from the side it seems that it has grown into the ground. This is one of the oldest temples in Transcarpathia. He meets tourists at the beginning of the village near the road. This church has been known since 1428, and in 1760 a tall frame tower was built over the entrance. Narrow pointed windows are a reflection of the Gothic style in architecture. The oak logs of this church are considered the oldest in Ukraine.
