In 1981, in Uzhhorod the museum of the outstanding Transcarpathian artist Fedir Manailo was founded. He was born in the village of Ivanivtsi, Mukachevo district. Upon entering the museum, tourists will be able to feel the artist’s unique multifaceted talent and get acquainted with the works he left behind. His creative heritage is very diverse:

- graphics;
- scenery;
- book miniatures, etc.
Most of his works are dedicated to his native land.

Detailed description of the Fedir Manailo Museum in Uzhhorod
Manailo works are called a real encyclopaedia of Verkhovyna. The artist also grew decorative melons, which he turned into works of art. He applied various patterns to them while they were still growing. In total, the museum’s collection contains more than two thousand exhibits.
Fedir Manailo (1910-1978) was born in the family of a village school teacher. He studied at the Higher School of Art and Industry in Prague. His works were significantly influenced by the motifs of folklore of the Silver Land. He was one of the founders of the Uzhhorod School of Applied Arts. Fedir Manailo worked as a teacher at this educational institution. He was one of the initiators of the Transcarpathian regional branch of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Later he became the head of this centre.
Fedir Manailo helped with the artistic design of the drama theatre and philharmonic in Uzhhorod. He was also invited to cooperate with publishing houses and film studios.

The institution is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday are days off.

He was born and lived all his life in Uzhhorod. He graduated with a gold medal from Uzhhorod School No. 1 named after Taras Shevchenko (now Uzhhorod Lyceum named after Taras Shevchenko). He studied at the History Department of UzhNU, graduating with honours in 2009. He worked as a senior researcher at the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, a lecturer at the East European Slavic University.
