In the very center of Tyachiv there are two ancient temples. First, you should familiarize yourself with the Catholic neo-Gothic church of St. King Istvan (Stephen), which was built in 1883-1885 and consecrated in 1888. You can see a clock on the tower of the church. However, it is not real, but painted – this is a common practice in the territory of Transcarpathia, since not every municipality could afford to purchase an expensive clock. The clock above the temple served not only to tell the congregation the time, but also to remind that every moment can be the last in human life.
